Between art, architecture and cuisine

There are many fascinating things about Vienna: the Habsburgs, Viennese humour, Sachertorte, idyllic alleyways, baroque city palaces, outstanding museums, coffee houses steeped in history. And of course there is music in the air. From the most famous composers of Viennese Classicism such as Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert to the waltz king Johann Strauss and many more created their masterpieces here. This city loves contrasts and traditions and simply swings right between excitement and relaxation.

And of course you can also enjoy culinary delights. What other city in the world can boast of being the namesake of an independent style of cuisine? Yet there has never been a long-established, independent Viennese cuisine. Instead, Viennese specialities are inspired by dishes from neighbouring from Austria's neighbouring countries, above all, of course, the countries and regions of the former Danube Monarchy. From typical Viennese pubs to luxurious gourmet temples - the capital offers a huge variety of local culinary delights.
