Die traditionelle Wiener Küche ist geprägt von den früheren Einflüssen der Zuwanderer aus Böhmen, Ungarn, Kroatien und vielen anderen und präsentiert sich daher sehr abwechslungsreich. Nachstehend einige Wiener Speisen mit gänzlich anderer Abstammung: Das ­berühmte „Wiener Schnitzel“ soll seine Vorfahren in Italien haben, der Apfelstrudel stammt aus dem Orient, die Bohnensuppe ist serbischen, das Gulasch ungarischen Ursprungs. Mohnnudeln und Powidl­tascherln gehören zu den böhmischen Nationalspeisen – um nur einige zu nennen.
