Harry's Bar is located five minutes west of St Mark's Square and was opened in 1931 by Giuseppe Arrigo Cipriani and his American friend Harry Pickering - after whom the bar was named.
In den 1950er Jahren wurde sie vom internationalen Jetset entdeckt. Orson Welles oder Truman Capote gehörten zu den illustren Gästen, und Ernest Hemingway verewigte die Bar sogar in seinem Roman „Über den Fluss und in die Wälder“. Seit 1980 wird die Bar vom Sohn des Gründers geführt. In den kleinen Räumen, die sich über zwei Stockwerke ziehen, geht es oft sehr hektisch und eng zu, aber auch das macht das Flair dieser Bar aus.
Berühmt ist Harry’s Bar als kulinarischer Erfinder des Bellinis und des Carpaccios.
