The site of today's Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta on the Piazza dell'UnitĂ  d'Italia was already built on in the 3rd century, when there was a Roman inn for catering to travellers.

Das 1873 errichtete Hotel, von der Versicherungsgesellschaft Assicurazioni Generali in Auftrag gegeben, ist ein Domizil im mitteleuropäischen Stil, welches das kĂ¼nstlerische und historische Erbe dieser Stadt und dieses Landes weiterträgt. Heute hat es seinen ursprĂ¼nglichen Glanz wiedererlangt.
